Beauty from a Beast

I found this dresser on Facebook Marketplace for a steal!  When I went to pick it up, I discovered it was an absolute beast–it weighed a TON!  The first thing I fell in love with was the hardware.  I knew that whatever I did with this piece, the hardware stayed!

Other than regular wear and tear, the biggest hurdle with this dresser was the chipping on the side.  As a result, I knew this dresser would need to be painted at least on the body to cover the damage.  I broke all of the loose pieces off and went to town on wood filler.  Once it was dry I sanded it smooth and it was good as new.  I then went to work on the dresser top and drawers, sanding them down to raw wood.

My latest paint color crush is this gorgeous neutral that falls somewhere between beige and gray.  It adapts to blend with any color you pair it with.  I chose carbon gray stain for the top and drawers and finished it off by cleaning up the hardware and painting it a luscious oil-rubbed bronze.

I am in love with the finished product!  The wood and the paint highlight gorgeous tones of gray and beige.  This neutral is able to fit into any decor.

Hold my wine, I’ve got this…
