Turn In For Comfort

I don’t need to tell you that the world has been turned upsidedown in 2020.  No reminder needed.  What I do want to remind you of (and myself while I’m at it) is that more than ever it is important to create a quiet, safe space for ourselves to regroup, turn inward, and experience comfort and pleasure.  People are in a desperate search for a way to feel good.

I have talked about the popularity of the Danish practice of Hygge in the past, but I want to again invite you to explore this concept. Defined by the Oxford dictionary as “a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being”, I think Hygge is a philosophy that we can all embrace.  The beauty is that it is personal and unique to each of us.  It can include foods, candles, lights, blankets, books, pillows…the list goes on and on.  The key is to find the things that comfort you and embrace them!!  Search it on Facebook or Pinterest and you will be amazed–and drawn in.

What can you do to bring a little peace, love, and tranquility into your life?  And once you do, how can you share these feelings with the world?

As we move into fall, think about all the ways that you can incorporate comfort and “good feels” into your home.  It may be just the thing you need to adjust to this new normal.

Hold My Wine, I’ve Got This…
